Salary lookup by job, city and level

Pick the work, the place and your level to see what open job postings say they pay: the median, the middle half and the companies that post the most. From pay ranges employers state, updated daily.

Where the numbers come from

Many US states now require a job posting to state its pay. DonutApply reads open postings from companies' own job boards every day, and these figures add up the ranges they state: the top of each range, in yearly dollars, counted by posting. Postings that state no pay, internships and part-time roles are left out, and a place or level is shown only with enough postings to say something.

Using them

  • Before you apply, check a posting's own range against the middle half for the work and place.
  • When they ask what you expect, a figure inside the middle half for your level is one the market has already posted.
  • Comparing offers? The offer comparison calculator adds up base, bonus and equity and sets each base against these figures.

Every role and city also has a page of its own: salary ranges by job and city.

Questions

Are these real salaries?

They are the pay ranges employers state in their own open job postings: what a company says it may pay for the role. They are not salaries anyone reported, and offers can land anywhere in a range.

Why is a city or level missing?

A place or level is shown only when enough open postings state pay to say something: 20 for a page and 10 for a level. Too few, and the figures for every level or for the US stand in.

How often are they updated?

Every night, from the day's open postings.
