About DonutApply

In short

DonutApply is a job search app for people looking for work in the US. It is run by Steerius, LLC. It lists open jobs read from employers' own careers sites, fills applications from your profile with a Chrome extension, and tracks every application. It never submits an application or sends a message for you.

Who runs it

DonutApply is made and run by Steerius, LLC. The same company answers support and privacy questions at support@donutapply.com. The privacy policy and terms are its commitments to you.

Where the jobs come from

  • Employers' own sites only. Every listing is read from a company's own careers site or the hiring system it runs on (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, Oracle, SuccessFactors and others), or from Y Combinator's board, where its startups post their own jobs. Nothing comes from a job board anyone can post to.
  • Some 70,000 company job boards are read, most of them every day.
  • Removed when the job is gone. A posting comes down once the company takes it down, or once its site has not shown it for 10 days.
  • US only. A posting placed outside the US is not listed.
  • Ghost jobs flagged. A posting reposted again and again under the same title is flagged as a likely ghost job. See what a ghost job is.

How the public figures are worked out

The salary pages, hiring pages and company pages are rebuilt every day from the same listings.

  • Pay is the top of the pay range each open US posting states, in yearly dollars (an hourly rate times 2,080), counted by posting and rounded to the nearest $1,000. Postings that state no pay, internships and part-time roles are left out. A posted range is what a company says it may pay, not what anyone was offered.
  • Hiring counts are open US postings on companies' own job boards as read that day. A posting is new when it says it was posted in the last 30 days, or, when it says no day, when DonutApply first saw it in that time.
  • The kind of work is read from the job title, so a title can count under more than one kind.
  • Rising companies are scored from public evidence: SEC Form D filings, funding news, Y Combinator, Hacker News hiring threads, venture firms' portfolios and each company's own hiring pace. How the score works.

The rules it keeps

  • It never submits an application, and never sends a message, for you.
  • It never invents a fact about you: a field nothing in your record answers is left blank.
  • You answer every CAPTCHA.
  • Your tracker, profile, resumes and notes are private to you.
  • Its AI runs on US-based providers with zero data retention: what you send is not kept, sold or used to train models.

Corrections

If a company page, a figure or a guide is wrong, email support@donutapply.com. A company that asks for its page to come down is taken off the site.
