One Workday per company
Workday sells its software to each employer separately, and each runs its own copy, with its own address (often company.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com or similar), its own candidate accounts and its own questions. There is no shared Workday profile that follows you from one company to another, the way a LinkedIn profile would.
What carries over and what does not
- Same company, different jobs: one account. Sign in with the same email and your earlier answers and resume are usually there.
- Different companies: a new account each time, and the whole form again.
- Email confirmation: some companies email a link you must click before the account works. Check spam if it does not arrive.
Why the form is so long
Workday asks for your work history and education as separate rows, each with its own title, employer, dates and description, across several steps: My Information, My Experience, Application Questions, Voluntary Disclosures and Review. Its “Autofill with Resume” button parses your resume into those rows, but the result often needs fixing row by row: dates, employers run into titles, missing schools.
How to get through Workday faster
- Use the same email for every Workday account, and let your browser's password manager create and keep a strong password for each site.
- Keep a plain-text copy of each job's title, employer, dates and bullets to paste, so you are not retyping from the PDF.
- Save your answers to the questions every employer asks: work authorization, sponsorship, how you heard about the job, your demographic answers.
- Use an autofill extension that fills each Workday step from your profile, then read it over before you press Submit.
